I wanted to thank you for the boxes of Beanies and the box of goodies. The toys will be used by our engineers and Civil Affairs
personnel while they're out interfacing with the locals. We really appreciate your help and the thoughts of everyone in the
states who supports us.
We are a multi-service, multi-component team (active Army, Army Reserve, Army National Guard,
Active Navy and Navy Reserve) whose main focus is the rebuilding (or in a lot of cases the building) of the Afghan infrastructure.
This place is a lot like the 14th century with cell phones and cars. We build bridges, schools, water projects and
the like. I am the logistics officer for the team, so my job is to support the guys who go outside and put their lives on
the line to help the locals.
Again, thank you very much, and I will always write back if written to (sometimes I take
a while, but I will answer).
