Patricia and Christine,
My name is SGT Brandon Goldsberry stationed in Baghdad. I received your packages probably about 2 weeks ago and sent a letter
out to the address on the package. I just received your letter though yesterday and definitely wanted to send out an email
thanking you and Agnes G.
The majority of the Beanie Babies where handed out to children in market places and various
areas on the east side of the Tigris River here in Baghdad. The rest will be passed out when we make an upcoming trip to the
Baghdad Children's Hospital in the upcoming weeks. (I will enclose in this email pictures of our squad passing them out to
the children.)
I cant explain how those little stuffed animals have such a profound impact on these people, yet they do.
Many of these children that we have day to day contact with literally have just the clothes on their back. So when we come
walking through we try to brighten their day with anything we can give them.
The support that we receive from the US from
generous people like yourselves, Agnes G and the Mohawk Trail Regional High school helps us in our mission. Again thank you
so much and please help spread the word that their are Soldiers over here working daily to make a difference over here.
That
we are striving not only to eradicate tyranny but to also protect, defend and put smiles on the faces of the children who
no nothing other than poverty.
