I
want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for sending us all of the wonderful Beanie Babies. This is the perfect
gift for us to give, because its small, nice and their parents won't take it from them.
I would like
to let you know that the Marines here truly appreciate the gesture of support you made by sending us some stuff from back
home. The support we have had has been an excellent morale booster for all the Marines. We only get mail 1 day a week and
it is the most important thing to the Marines. Some of the Marines get packages from home, but it’s the ones who get
nothing, and there are plenty of them, that really appreciate it the most.
We are all doing very
well. The average Marine works 12 hours a day 7 days a week. We will probably be here seven months and there will really
not be any days “off”. Some days are busier than others. Every once in a while we are able to go to Al Qaim,
which has a nice chow hall and a small store.
