"The goal of the Beanie Baby Ambassador Program is to help our troops --- during war or peace, at present & in the future ---to break the ice with native populations across the globe."

A note from the founder

Why am I personally so involved with this program?

My life experience has taught me that kindness experienced as a child is a very powerful, never to be forgotten influence.

I grew up in Germany after World War II.The years after the war were not years of plenty in Europe. As children we rarely had chocolates. but whenever NATO troops (American troops in our area) exercised their yearly maneuvers, my sister and I invariably were showered with candies and other rare treats by these camouflaged strangers. Big smiles underlined their kindness. We didn't need language.

Today I live in the USA and am an American Citizen.

In my mind it is absolutely essential for the survival of our complex and dangerous world that our men and women in uniform experience love and care ( from strangers and from fellow Americans ) It is equally essential that the natives in all parts of the world experience the same.

Their children, when adults, will have positive memories, memories of kindness by strangers in uniforms and will not have fallen prey to prejudice or even worse.

Our donated toys, distributed by our soldiers, will serve their present & future purposes well. They are & will be true global ambassadors. They have become hate's worst enemy. They have already started to build bridges between nations.
